Los invitamos a "cerrar la puerta del colegio"

Estimados Alumni,
Lorna Prado invita a todos los exalumnos interesados a "cerrar la puerta del colegio". Evento simbólico y formal, el cual, en muchos casos, será la última oportunidad para despedirse de la sede de Los Leones mientras siga siendo el Santiago College.
Entendiendo que esto puede suscitar un gran interés por parte de muchas personas, debemos dejar claro que este evento no es un encuentro de generaciones. Es una ceremonia formal y solemne, en la que se requerirá silencio por un rato bastante largo.
La actividad se realizará en la sede de Los Leones el miércoles 21 de diciembre a las 20:00 hrs en la cancha.

In my life, Santiago College has made a tremendous difference of who I am and who I might have been...and though inside my head I know a new school was imperative, in my soul I feel that my school (dear old SC) has ended.
I will attend the "Lota door closing" ceremony and write a piece to share with you all who could not be present.

Sadly, I no longer live in Chile, so I have missed the supper and will have to miss this ceremony as well. Lucky for me, my 20 year class reunion in October gave me the chance to have one last lunch there and walk around the grounds, remembering, remembering, remembering. The Los Leones campus is an unforgettable and special place, and I truly hope the students of Universidad San Sebastián are able to appreciate it as much as we all did.

I was the *fifth* generation of girls in my family to attend Santiago College. Needless to say, SC holds a very dear place in my heart -- and had I known in advance of the closing of the door, I would have made every attempt to attend -- a very bittersweet event. With the campus being made available to other students, a wonderful chapter of my life is closed.

I will not be in Chile on 21 December... I live in France. Anyway, I would not have been present on this occasion! It is a pity we are leaving our beautiful school where so many girls first and boys later graduated and enjoyed the beauty of such charming and elegant school grounds. I never understood why we are moving to La Dehesa... I am sad. Un abrazo y muchos cariños!
